Many people feel that they don’t need God intervening in their lives because they have it all under control. They are educated, have an amazing career and a great social life, and they credit their “success” to their own initiatives and labor. However, their success should really be labelled: the Success of a Loser. Continue reading
The Christmas season is upon us and it’s truly the most wonderful time of year! Not counting the bah-humbug groups, most people everywhere are happy and friendly and filled with the seasonal joy. And while many of these happy people celebrate the “Happy Holiday” with Santa; we Christians celebrate “Merry Christmas” with Jesus! Continue reading
The season of Thanksgiving is a cherished day. We prepare our delicious feasts and wait for family and friends to arrive and share in the joy of it all! It’s a special day for a reason—we are thankful! And we want to celebrate our blessings! We want to give Jesus our thanks! Continue reading
There have been many books written on the life of Jesus. Some come at us from a theologian point-of-view and are detailed in words we can’t pronounce, causing us to get lost on the first page. Other views are written from a lustful assumption that brings God down to human level in an effort to conceive a formula that provides much earthly gain. Continue reading
Christmas season is the one time of year when most people are either totally engaged with the festive occasion or are refusing to have anything to do with it. While many of the reasons may vary, a common one for denying celebration is because some of us just aren’t in the mood for Christmas. Continue reading
Most Christians accept that there is a Heaven and assume that they’ll go there when they leave earth, but many do not believe that there is a hell. Some of the new-agers believe that for unsaved people hell is here on earth, and for those who DO know Christ, then their Heaven is here on earth. This is totally erroneous doctrine because Heaven and hell are very real and we are all going to go to one or the other when we die.
Jesus came and died on the cross for every single person ever born, and He said that whoever accepts His salvation as redemption for their sins would be saved. So everyone has the opportunity to accept forgiveness for their sins through what Jesus did on the cross. And those who accept Jesus will be saved from the wrath of God that will soon come upon this earth, and they’ll have their name written in the Book of Life, but sadly, those whose names are not in this Book WILL go to hell.
“For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” … John 3:16
“And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”… Revelation 20:15
Jesus also tells us that there most certainly is a Heaven and that He has prepared a place for us:
“In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.”… John 14:2
But He’s also said that not everyone will go to Heaven, and that the path to Heaven is narrow.
“Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” … Matthew 7:14
Some people will be angry that they didn’t get into Heaven because they lived in religion and just assumed that they’d go to Heaven, but they never really knew God or accepted Christ, and we know this because of these scriptures:
“And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” … Matthew 24:51
“There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.” … Luke 13:28
“And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” … Matthew 7:23
But there will be those who DO make it into Heaven and they will be the ones who accepted Christ:
“His lord said unto him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.’” … Matthew 25:23
“He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.” … Revelation 2:7
We know that the longevity for each person born on earth is for only a short period of time and so while we are here we have an opportunity to accept that Jesus is our Lord and Saviour – or not. It’s our choice, but what we decide has definite consequences for our eternal future. And Jesus makes it clear:
“Jesus answered and said unto him, ‘Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.’” … John 3:3
“Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.” … 1 Peter 1:23
Jesus made it clear that He is the only way into Heaven, and if you believe in Him, you will be saved and go through that door to be with Him forever.
“I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.” … John 10:9
And finally, it’s hard for us to envision, but we won’t suffer the loss of the unsaved after the Judgement because Heaven is filled with God and love and His joy.
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” … Revelation 21:4
The new age Christianity teaches that once saved, always saved; that Christ came and died for everyone and so everyone is saved. Some sects of this new religion teach that Christ died for everyone and so if you acknowledge this then you’re saved. You don’t need to change any part of your sinful life because whatever you do is forgiven.
But this is foolishness! God is holy and Heaven is holy, and if He cast the devil out of Heaven when sin entered him, then why would God open the doors so that every sinner on earth could just walk in when they die? That would mean that Heaven would be corrupt with sin because the souls of the unsaved people are still carrying sin with them when they enter.
That would mean that Christ accomplished nothing on the cross; that He didn’t take upon Himself our sins and that He didn’t heal us. If every sinner could just enter Heaven without repenting and being forgiven, without accepting the pardon that Jesus gave through giving His own life, then it was all for nothing and God isn’t holy.
But God IS holy, and Jesus DID pay the ransom for our sins and Jesus DID bring us back into a relationship with God. And when we accept what Jesus accomplished on the cross we gain life and it separates us from the people who do not accept this truth. Therefore, only those who accept Jesus will get into Heaven, and those who don’t accept this truth will go to hell.
Many people ask why they need to be saved to go to Heaven, and the answer is simple: if you’ve ever broken even one of the Ten Commandments in even the smallest way, you have sinned and you will be punished for that sin because the wages of sin is death. There is not one person on earth who has not broken one of these commandments – except for Jesus.
There is a thirty-minute film that’s just been released and it will clearly let you see the need for the cross and it’s called, “Noah: and the last Days” produced by Ray Comfort, a Minister of the gospel and Founder/President/CEO of Living Waters Publications . Please watch it and be blessed. Don’t assume you’re going to Heaven and don’t kid yourself, there is a hell.

“Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve … but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”… Joshua 24:15
Christians know that Jesus is the Son of God who came to earth to be the savior of mankind – and even the world is familiar with His name even though they don’t reverence it. The Bible makes endless references to the many names of Jesus and each one is a powerful illustration of the authority and love of God. Yet, there are many Christians who don’t really know who Jesus is and who don’t realize that the entire Bible is inspired by Him and is written about Him.
Who is Jesus? Why does He deserve our love, our respect and our life? Why is our hope in Him and not in our own accomplishments? The answer can be found in the many names and titles that have been given to Him. Hopefully after reading some of them, we’ll all have a better understanding of who Jesus is.
