When we come to that crossroad in life and realize that we are a sinner in need of a savior and that Jesus IS that Savior, we are changed! The old “me” actually dies and we become a new person in Christ as we surrender to being a child of God. Our desires and priorities change and we want to read our Bibles so we can know our Father and follow Jesus, our Lord. If we stayed as we were, a sinner, we would be judged for those sins when we left this earth and our punishment would be to forever be separated from God and live only in the presence of the evil one. But when we give our life to Jesus, our sin is forgiven and we get to be who God has called us to be as we begin a new life that goes on forever with Jesus.
