Is it true that Christians aren’t allowed to get angry?

So many people have this misconceived image in their minds that Christians are boring people who dress in fifties-style clothes and are sworn to poverty. They don’t get involved with sports, never watch TV and talk with their monotone voices that flow from personalities so dull it would bore a fly. This is really … Continue reading Is it true that Christians aren’t allowed to get angry?

The joy of spring is in the air…

....for many people, but not for everyone.    Spring brings joy and peace but most of all, it brings new hope. As the signs of winter begin fading away, we hear the welcoming sounds of colorful song birds and we see some tiny sprouts of crocuses popping up in the garden. Somehow, the stress and challenges of winter … Continue reading The joy of spring is in the air…

Can Christians drink wine?

This is an ongoing question for new Christians and a controversial one for older Christians.  Many religions and Christian denominations forbid it completely and expose it as a ‘work of the devil’. Others accept drinking wine as a traditional beverage before a meal. Let’s see what the Bible has to say about drinking wine. In … Continue reading Can Christians drink wine?

Take the time to pray

Praying does not have to be a long, drawn out ordeal of memorizing verses and speaking out frivolous words. It's really just YOU talking to God. It's you thanking Him for your life and for your family and for being a loving God who wants to make your life better. It's asking for His wisdom … Continue reading Take the time to pray

Suffer the little children

Children are very precious and can light up a room with their smile and bring joy to the lowliest of hearts, but they can also be easily hurt and scarred. Often in our busy lives we push them away because we are doing something and we don’t want to be disturbed. Maybe we’re finishing … Continue reading Suffer the little children

How much does God love us?

When we share with others or give financial gifts to charities, we should do it with no strings attached – no grudges, no ambiguity and no expectations in return.  We should give because we want to share what we have with those who don’t have it because that is what God has done for us. … Continue reading How much does God love us?

Why does God tell us to pray for our enemies?

We all know people whose sole purpose, it seems, is to be our stumbling block in life. They bring us sorrows, cause us strife and surround us with challenges we’d rather not have.  And yet, God says we should pray for them. Why? There are two main reasons why Jesus instructed us in Matthew 5:44 … Continue reading Why does God tell us to pray for our enemies?

Do unto others as they do unto you…

This is a widespread concept among our society members today, but it is not the Golden Rule nor is it a derivative of the Golden Rule. This is man-made attitude that stems from following human instincts and desires instead of obeying the mandate that God has set out for our lives. In Matthew 22:39 Jesus … Continue reading Do unto others as they do unto you…

We reap what we sow – true or false?

There are several reasons why … Continue reading We reap what we sow – true or false?

The joy of the Lord is my strength…

How does “joy” help me pay the bills or overcome an illness or be positive when life’s falling apart? Joy is an attitude of the heart that controls the mind and our actions and reactions. This sounds like a mind game and not a realistic approach to life’s challenges, but it’s real and it works. … Continue reading The joy of the Lord is my strength…

This is the day the Lord has made and yesterday is past.

Many of us can look back at yesterday and feel the weights of sorrows, injustices and anger, but if we don't let go of them we bring them into today and we will never rise up out of that defeat. Our future will never change and we will continue to live in a miserable state … Continue reading This is the day the Lord has made and yesterday is past.

Judging others

If we want to be accepted and respected as an esteemed individual, we need  to give other people the same respect.  When we judge others for the way they dress or speak or act, we are showing  disrespect to them and to their right to be themselves.   We don’t walk in their shoes and … Continue reading Judging others
