Christians know that Jesus is the Son of God who came to earth to be the savior of mankind – and even the world is familiar with His name even though they don’t reverence it. The Bible makes endless references to the many names of Jesus and each one is a powerful illustration of the authority and love of God. Yet, there are many Christians who don’t really know who Jesus is and who don’t realize that the entire Bible is inspired by Him and is written about Him.
Who is Jesus? Why does He deserve our love, our respect and our life? Why is our hope in Him and not in our own accomplishments? The answer can be found in the many names and titles that have been given to Him. Hopefully after reading some of them, we’ll all have a better understanding of who Jesus is.

There was a video put out a few years ago by a very humble and yet very talented Christian artist who paints a picture of Jesus from the many names that are listed in the Bible. Please take a few minutes to watch and be blessed as the anointed music and the picture of Jesus come alive in you! Click here to go to the video.

the word “son of God” in itself is not a proof of that this sonship is literal, as it was used extensively in both the Old and New Testaments in a figurative meaning, i.e. that this sonship means adoption, for example we can see these scripts:
Exo 4:22 And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith Jehovah, Israel is my son, my first-born:
Psa 82:6 I said, Ye are gods, And all of you sons of the Most High.
2Sa 7:14 I(God) will be his father, and he(Solomon) shall be my son (I put the words in paranthesis)
Luk 3:38 the son of Enos, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God.
Mat 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called sons of God.
Mat 5:16 Even so let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
So as we see here, this expression is used for different people , and doesn’t mean real sonship but adoptive sonship as we all agree.

Thanks for sharing your opinion. We are all “adopted” as children [sons] of God when we accept the sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross for our sins. John 1:12 says, “But as many as received Him [Jesus], to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.”
