As Christians, we always have a reason to rejoice because our names are written in the Book of Life! This Book lists all those who will go to Heaven because they accepted Jesus as their Savior; everyone else will suffer eternal punishment. God loves us, but the inherent sin in us prevents us from ever being in His presence, so Jesus became a man, suffered the barbaric cruelty of the cross in our place when He bore our sins, and took them to hell for us. There’s no love greater than this, that the God who will judge us sacrificed His earthly body to save us. And when we accept His gift of life, we can’t help but rejoice because we know Jesus will get us through our trials here on earth, and that our names are written in His Book of Life!
