Gossip is controlling and destructive. Most of us agree it’s wrong, yet many are addicted to the sensationalism of false news and social media for entertainment. The Bible warns about the dangers of gossip, but even many Christians are drawn into the latest update of false stories—and believe them. We must be careful what we hear and read because the more we focus on gossip, the more we glorify Satan, the father of lies. As Christians, we want to praise and exalt the Lord in everything, not only in what we say and do, but in what we allow ourselves to see and hear.
