The day before Jesus went to the cross, He gathered His disciples in an upper room and shared His last meal with them. Jesus took the bread and told them to eat it in remembrance of His body being broken on the tree for them. Then He poured the wine and told them to drink it as a memorial of His blood that would be poured out for their sins. When we receive Jesus as our Savior, this “last supper” becomes very special because we know that Jesus gave up His life to save ours and rose from the dead to give us eternal life! Though we’ll praise Him throughout eternity, it won’t be long enough to show our gratitude for His sacrifice.
