Today, we reflect on Jesus, who died on the cross for our sins, freed us from the clutches of Satan, and redeemed us back to God, our Father. Jesus is God in the flesh, yet His body was wrenched with torment. He felt the burning stings of the sharp whips, the blows from the aggressive punches, the shocking punctures from the crown of thorns, and the pain from the rusty spikes that pierced His hands and feet. As our sin quickly filled His being, He hung in shame and agony and cried, “It is finished!” He had fulfilled His promise to send us a Savior. Our sins condemned Him to hell, but it couldn’t hold Him. He rebuked the sin, set the captives free, and rose from the grave! Jesus gave to us His Amazing Grace!
