Many people started the new year by making resolutions and promises that seemed good at the time but have already become near impossible to keep. Some of the goals that were set were very realistic and attainable but now they look like they were just another wish for better things ahead.
Goals aren’t wishes that you hope will happen – they are aspirations or objectives that you have to work at, and that means commitment and strategy! They are achievements that are earned after travelling a road that’s filled with obstacles. So, don’t be too quick to give up.
You may have started and been forced to quit before you got very far along, but if that vision of your goal is burning in your thoughts then it doesn’t matter how many times you’re distracted. Start again and again and again and keep going. Don’t let the obstacles over take you – YOU over take the obstacles.
Don’t tell God how big your problems are; tell your problems how big your God is!
When you’re commited to doing that thing that you have determined to do and that you know is within the realm of what God wants for you in your life, then pray every day for God’s strength and wisdom to get you through. Make every day a stepping stone – a daily goal – to meeting the final goal. With God’s help, you will succeed and you will overcome the obstacles in your way because you’re taking them one at a time. And when God is with you, who can be against you?
“I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”….Phillipians 4:13
