Sometimes our days can be filled with stresses and challenges and we find ourselves hanging in by a thread just hoping to get through them. Whenever you have those days, do you ever find yourself asking God for patience and then discovering afterwards that things just got a little bit worse?
That’s because patience is the outcome of lessons learned through trials and tests, and James 1:3 says that the testing of your faith produces patience. So, if you’re asking for patience, you just may end up with more tests.
So, what do you ask for to get you through? Try asking God for these:
Wisdom: James 1:5 tells us to ask God for wisdom and He will give it us liberally.
Knowledge: Proverbs 24:5 says that a man of knowledge increases strength.
Understanding: Proverbs 19:8 says that He who keeps understanding will find good.
And once we begin attaining these virtues, we will be more prepared for the next challenge – and we know that there will always be other challenges!
Ronnie, there is a great deal of the Scripture devoted to running the race with perseverance.
That’s true, there is a lot of scripture devoted to the issue of patience and running the race with perseverance – and I’m thankful for every word!
LOL! Praying for patience! And we always want it now, don’t we? Ronnie, great things to ask for while waiting and being prepared. Thanks for the encouragement. Be blessed!
