Christians are forgiven, not perfect. The more we study the Bible and grow in the Lord, the harder the devil works to pull us back, discredit the Lord, and undermine God’s promises to us. He works hard to lure us into temptation, just as Jesus said He would (John 16:33), and every once in a while, we find ourselves doing or saying something that we shouldn’t. Then we feel bad about it, ashamed, and dirty because of it, and the devil waits in the dark for our failure. But God is loving and merciful. He knows we’re not perfect; He sees what the devil is doing, and He’s ready to forgive us and help us rise above it when we come to Him with a humble heart. We are God’s children, and He watches over us. Nothing can separate us from His love.
