It often seems that the more we focus on a problem, the worse it gets. This is because there really IS a devil behind it, and the more we focus on what he’s doing, the more glory he gets and the less likely he is to leave. We know problems will come; Jesus warned us in John 16:33 that they would, but we’re to give them to Jesus (1 Peter 5:7), our Lord and Savior who defeated Satan at the cross. We’re to pray about them and then praise God that He’s got the victory over them. The devil flees because we’re not giving him glory for them; we’re praising God for His victory over them, and all of Heaven rejoices with us—and the devil does not want to be in God’s presence.
