Why would we want to be nice to people who are mean, spiteful, and go out of their way to hurt us? Because God told us to! These people only know this way of life because their god, the devil, is encouraging them. And before we came to Jesus, though our circumstances, personalities, pain, and torment may have been different, life with Satan is all we knew, too. Now imagine how happy and free they’d be if they knew Jesus and were filled with His Spirit! Think how blessed our lives would become! And think how happy the Lord would be that we helped lead a lost child Home! God wants us to pray for our enemies so they can know Him and be set free, just as He set us free!
