God loves all people, even though most prefer the pleasures of sin rather than obeying Him. Yet, He continues to be full of love because God IS love, and He’s full of mercy because of this love. God created you and me out of this love—AND He died on the cross to take our sins away because of His love. When we accept Jesus as our Savior, our sins are washed away, and we are spared from God’s wrath against sin. We still do things we shouldn’t, but when we ask God to forgive us, we have this assurance: God is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and quick to forgive—because He loves us.
