The Bible is our most essential resource as a believer. If it weren’t necessary, how would we know we are sinners and need the salvation of Jesus in the first place? How would we know God intimately? Or how would we know the truth about the state of this world or of the things that are about to come upon it? God gave us the Bible so that we could know Him, and as we read it, His Spirit teaches us His truth—reading on our own, it’s just another book. So if we know God, then we need to read the Scriptures, study them, and thank God for them because His Words are life to our soul!
