Many people assume they’re saved and believe that when Jesus died on the cross He became automatic salvation for everyone. However, if they believe that, they don’t know what salvation is or why it was provided on the cross! Continue reading
It seems that false doctrines are stealing the hearts of many people who feel that they’re on the right path towards God. They are based on deception and not truth, and they cater to the flesh and not to the spirit. It grieves this author to know that so many people might not get into Heaven because they’re being deceived by the devil through their own vanity. Continue reading
It’s almost impossible for non-believers to know what truth is anymore because there are so many so-called Christian doctrines that preach what people want to hear instead of what God has said! And so, we have hundreds of thousands of people who belong to various organizations and call themselves Christians, yet they don’t even know Christ. Continue reading
Much of the modern-day Christian doctrine teaches that God is a god of “love and grace”, and that repentance and commitment are no longer prerequisites to get into Heaven because we were all saved at the cross when Jesus said, “It is finished”—[John 19:30]. However, this deception is leading millions down the wrong path … and so the broad path to destruction widens! Continue reading
Most of us enjoy talking and sharing with our family and friends, and it’s even normal for us to pour our heart out in anguish about a situation or person that has hurt and challenged us. We’re told in James 5:16 to share with each other so that we can pray for each other, and where many of these issues remain private to the glory of God, many more become public ridicule and the targets for spreading rumors. Continue reading
It seems that life now-a-days has more ups and downs and constant challenges than ever before. The law has changed dramatically and now it allow things that years ago would have been forbidden such as the legalization of abortion and the acceptance of a homosexual lifestyle. Crime and pointless killings have become the norm, sickness and incurable diseases are on the rise, and God has been eliminated from public sectors such as schools, work places – and even churches! The security of every person on earth is being contested and not far in the future those who don’t know Christ will face a very dark hour.
We have watched the chaos unravel around us for years and now we see the dangers they all present and the future that we face, and many of us are scared. What is our hope for the future?
While it is true that the world is becoming overrun by sin, it is also true that as Christians, this world is not our home so it does not control us. When we became born again Jesus became the Lord over our life and so we have to realize that HE is in control over everything that happens in our life when we study our Bible, follow Him and trust Him. The world will continue down its path of destruction, but we will keep our eyes on Jesus and follow Him on the narrow path.
“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in there at, because strait is the gate and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life and few there be that find it.” … Matthew 7:13-14
In Matthew 24:3, the disciples came to Jesus and asked Him, “Tell us, when shall these things be and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” Jesus answered them in verses 4-14 and explained what signs to look for, and then in verses 15-51 He went into more detail about what things would happen in the last days before He would return. These scriptures no longer refer to the “future” of mankind because we now live in the time when we can see evidence of many of these occurrences.
And we are not far from the time that is spoken of in Luke 21:26 when we’re told about the fear that would come to mankind because of these events. “Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.”
The world is literally falling apart, yet many will argue and say that Christianity is spreading across the globe more now than ever before in history, but that is not really true. Yes, Christianity is being preached by true born-again believers all around the world and there are many who have devoted their lives to spread the true gospel of Christ. And there are many Christians in the Middle-East who are martyred because they choose to follow Jesus. However, not everyone who says they are a Christian is, in fact, a Christian.
The bulk of the Christian world as we know it in general is not led by Jesus or founded on the real gospel of Jesus according to the scriptures; it’s a false gospel that caters to the desires of greedy people and does not teach the true gospel of Christ. There are many false preachers and religions that make people feel good and that seem to hit right on with what they want to believe. And since the churches they join are called churches – be it physical congregations or television evangelical organizations – they feel secure in their ignorance, all the while thinking that they’re safe, but not realizing they are on the road to hell.
While each one of us will stand accountable for our own life one day, these false preachers, teachers and prophets will all face the judgment of God and be cast into hell because they deceived the people and taught a false Christ and a false gospel.
“And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” … Matthew 24:51
And as we read in Matthew 7, there are many false preachers and doctrines that the devil has cleverly planted here just to deceive people and to keep them from knowing God. The less of God there is in this world, the more the devil can rule in lawlessness and the more damage he can and will do. When people carelessly assume that they will go to Heaven and that God will protect them and give them everything they want and feel that they deserve, they are fools. Satan has used the false leaders to deceive them and when they leave this earth and face God, they will receive their judgment right along with the deceivers who they followed.
“And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” … Matthew 7:23
A very dark hour is coming upon this earth, just as Jesus predicted, and the only way we will get through it is with Jesus. Though many Christians hope to be raptured before the worst of it comes, the truth is that no one knows when that will be and so we may have to endure much more before that great event happens. But, Jesus has promised to protect us and keep us safe when we walk through those horrific trials.
False Christianity and ignorance might get us riches and fame here on earth, but it will not cause us to escape God’s wrath that is coming and has already begun. There is much more to life than just living for today because God created us to live with Jesus forever, and therefore, our souls will live on forever. Our bodies here will die, but Jesus has said that we will be given new bodies and that when we leave this earth we will all stand before God. If He sees that we belong to Him and that the blood of Jesus has washed away all of our sins, then He will welcome us into Heaven to live with Him forever; but if we are not covered in the righteousness of Christ and we still have the old sin of the devil in us, we will face judgment and be sentenced to hell.
Just as the life of Joan Rivers was taken suddenly and unexpectedly, so could it be with anyone. Don’t be fooled into thinking that you can accept Jesus and change your lifestyle “one day” because that day may have come and gone and may never come again. The Bible tells us in Luke 13:28:
“There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out. “
When we live for Jesus, through His grace and our faith we are able to see His goodness and His love, the joy He gives us and the hope for today. We can experience a blessed peace in our heart because regardless of what happens here on earth, we have a home in Heaven where our Heavenly Father waits for us. We have much to look forward to and much to thank God for every day, but those who don’t know Jesus will stand alone as they head toward a very dark hour.
“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” … John 14:1-3
* If you don’t know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, but want to be a Christian with a home in Heaven, then just find a quiet place for a minute and bow your head. Tell God that you want to repent and come out of the world and that you want to be a Christian. Ask Jesus to forgive you for all your sins and to fill you with His Spirit. There won’t be any thunder or flashing lights for you to see – although in Heaven the angels will cheer louder than any sports stadium could portray. Then as soon as possible, get into the New Testament of the Bible and read it over and over. Pray and ask the Lord to teach you everything He is saying so that it will get deep into your heart. And then remember to tell God thank you often for saving you and for making you part of His family.
The Bible warns us that in the last days there will be mockers who will come at us from every resource to make fun of Jesus and His deity, and that if the Christians who profess to love Him don’t really know Him, even they will be deceived. Don’t let the mockers deceive YOU!
“These are grumblers, complainers, walking according to their own lusts; and they mouth great swelling words, flattering people to gain advantage. But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ: how they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts. These are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit.” … Jude 1:16-19
Hollywood has reaped its successes by portraying every type of life scenario to draw in a global viewing audience. And what better way to include the millions of so-called Christians than to make a religious movie that depicts the truth about their Savior?
Unfortunately, not even Hollywood with all of its modern technology can reveal the truth about Jesus to anyone. Why not? Because the Bible tells us that only the Holy Spirit will reveal God to us, and when we watch a so-called “Godly” movie and it’s different from the truth, we know that the Spirit wasn’t involved. It’s produced by mockers who are led by money, success and box office reviews.
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” … 2 Timothy 3:16
The movie, Son of God, has just been released in theatres and the hype that has gone ahead of its debut has made Christians and non-Christians alike curious about what it entails. Non-Christians, who have no idea who Jesus is or what His purpose is or what He has done for us, will view this movie and think, “What a great guy!” But Christians who watch this movie and who know Jesus will see that it’s just another Hollywood attempt to mock God.
There is only one way to learn about Jesus, to know who He is and what He’s done for us. There is only ONE way! That is to read the Bible and pray that the Spirit of God reveal Him to us. There is no other way. The only way to Heaven is through Jesus, not through a film that has changed the truth to adamant lies to deceive its viewers.
Peter walked with Jesus and knew that He was special, but it wasn’t until the Holy Spirit revealed the truth to him that he knew who Jesus really was.
“’ Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.’” … Matthew 16:17
If we are truly searching for the truth about Jesus, then we have to go to the source – the Bible! And we have to study it. We cannot go to the world and expect that they would know anything about God, and if we go there then we have to realize that what we’ll see are lies and deception. God does NOT lead us into temptation and we have to be mature enough to stay away from it.
“And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.” … Matthew 6:13
Sunny Shell, author of the Christian blog, Abandoned to Christ, recently viewed the movie, Son of God, and published her observations. She compares the movie to the Bible and notes that this film does NOT represent the truth about the Bible, about Jesus or about events that took place during His earthly ministry. It’s an emotional deception that shows Jesus to be a “nice person”, but without purpose, deity or power, and the events have been changed enough to shock those who do know their Bible. Read her review and learn what changes were made and how the truth has been distorted to produce a new age Jesus, and not the Jesus of the Bible it claims to represent.
Sadly, though, many people will be baited by the actors’ performances that will convince them otherwise, and they will be lost in the hype and the emotions of the movie’s deception. As Christians, we need to encourage other believers to read the Bible if they want to know Jesus and to leave Hollywood to do their thing of entertaining idle minds.
Jesus is Lord and He won’t be mocked. Beware and don’t let the mockers deceive YOU!
“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” … John 10:27
Christianity means different things to different people, depending on where in the world you live. In some countries Jesus is truly their Saviour and their only hope for survival here on earth with the promise of a better life in Heaven with Him. In America, however, our lifestyle is very different; we don’t endure a daily fight for survival even though we are oppressed with crime, and the provision of food, shelter and medication is not nearly as threatened.
We live in the land of “milk and honey” and many Christians don’t feel the need to depend on Jesus for everyday living because of education, financial investment, medical care and social status opportunities. As a result, we focus on our own successes, our own material wealth and our pleasures, and if we feel guilty we can always repent because we take on the attitude that God is forgiving so we can repent any time. But the clock is ticking and the world is entering its time of great sorrows. It’s time now to take our eyes off of ourselves and get them onto Jesus.
It’s amazing that so many Christians are still focusing on what God will do for them now, how He will bless them now and what wealth they can collect as His children now. They seem to misunderstand what God has done for us. He is not our servant and His name is not one that we chant to get things. He did not save us from our sins so that we could just live it up here on earth and demand His blessings. We need to grow up spiritually, step out of our little frame and look at the big picture.
John 1:29 says, “Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.”
When we study the Old Testament we learn that the people of God had to come before Him with live animal sacrifices to be given as atonement for their sins. This was necessary for God to forgive them so they could continue to be His children because if there is sin between them and God, then God couldn’t communicate with them because good and evil cannot be in the same place.
When Jesus died on the cross, He took upon Himself all of our sins so that we could now be filled with His Spirit and be holy before God our Father – without sin. This is an amazing and miraculous event because we can now communicate with God; we can pray and He hears us; we can ask for help and He helps us; we can pray for others and He’s there for them. (Matthew 7:7)
Isaiah 53:5 elaborates on what Jesus did for us on the cross. “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.”
Jesus not only washed away our sins, but He healed our bodies, as well. Through the cross, we have the privilege of being healed and living in good health because we know that He healed us, and so when we get ill or injured we know that our bodies can be restored. We do not have to accept illness.
Paul says in 1 Corinthians 9:27 (NKJ) “But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.” Paul was telling us to not accept illness, but rather to keep our eyes on the Lord and put our bodies under discipline so they can be healthy.
But many of us just want to know about the good living that we all feel we’re entitled to because we’re Christians, and we know from 3 John 1:2 that God does not want us to live in poverty. He blessed Abraham abundantly, and King Solomon was the richest king in history so we know that God does bless us with earthly possessions. What God does NOT want is for us to “love” riches, “love” money and “love” the wealth and fame more than we “love” Him. He instructs us very clearly in Exodus 20:3 to not put any other gods before Him, and when our thoughts, concerns and goals are for personal wealth, be it large or small, we have in essence made that to be our God because we serve those thoughts and those hopes and those goals more than we serve the Lord.
“For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.” … Romans 14:17
When we become absorbed with our own lives and with reaching our goals and maintaining social status and collecting material possessions, we take our eyes off of the Lord so that we can serve our own desires – and lusts. The Bible says in Matthew 6:24 that we cannot serve two masters and that if we try we’ll love one and hate the other.
Many of us live within our own little frame and miss the big picture.
Since the fall of Adam and Eve, the citizens of earth have been steadily drifting away from God, and today many Christians are totally deceived about the truth of the Lord. Too many churches are preaching the prosperity message and this deception is growing – get all the riches from God because He wants you to be wealthy. This is a lie because this world is not going to carry on for much longer. We are running out of time and we need to get our eyes on Jesus. Our redemption is drawing nigh.
The world is in a growing state of turmoil, sinful living and unrest and it’s getting worse by the day as it speeds toward its own destruction. The clock is ticking and Jesus warns us of the signs to look out for in 2 Timothy 3: 1-5:
“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!”
These sorrows have already begun. Immorality and perversion are spreading like wild-fire across the globe, and the attitude and actions of many people are just how Jesus predicted they would be. And there are false prophets out there who are encouraging this behaviour for their own financial gain, “having a form of godliness”, and far too many Christians are falling into their deception because they have not taken the time to know Jesus and to study the Bible for themselves.
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” … 2 Timothy 2:15
With so much unrest in the world and the anticipation of more disasters and even a major war waiting in the shadows, it’s time for Christians to wake up and see what’s going on. This world is living out its last days. Life here will continue to get more challenging, more fearful and more corrupt. Contrary to what our governments promise, life is not going to get better; the economy is not going to improve and we are not going to be able to relax. Life is going to get worse and more fearful as we roller coast toward that final hour.
The Bible says in Luke 21:26 that, “Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.”
Christians need to stop looking for what they can get from God and start surrendering to Him and ask what they can do. There are so many people who don’t know the Lord and even more who think they do, but are following a false teaching. We need to focus on Jesus, know that He’s returning soon, and accept that this world is nearing its end. Saving up wealth for the future is pretty useless when we realize that it’s all going up in flames in the not too far future.
The clock is ticking. No one knows how much time is left, but if you spend one hour reading the headlines of any newspaper, or watch any major news station, or just look around at the immortality and disrespect for life that has become the norm, you’ll realize that the end is closer than you think. But if you keep your eyes on Jesus, you will make it.
“The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.” … Psalm 18:2
Jesus is coming soon and since we don’t know when, we want to be ready. We don’t want to be so caught up with the world and our own lives and then we miss Him.
“Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.” … Matthew 24:44
Let’s spend more time studying His Word and knowing what’s really going on so that we will be like little children and hear His voice when He calls.
“And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.” … Luke 21:28
