Jesus died publicly on the cross for the salvation of everyone, but it becomes personal when we accept it. Many don’t realize Jesus knows each of us by name, not as a group or a number, but by our name. Jeremiah 1:5 says He knew us before we were even born, and John 3:16 says He came to earth to die in our place for our sins. Jesus had YOU and me on His heart when He died on that cross and rose from the grave. When we accepted His gift, Jesus was there with outstretched arms, revealing the hole prints in His hands, and calling our name. And as we share the gospel with others, Jesus calls the lost to repentance through us so they, too, can accept Him as their Savior!
