Sometimes, when we meet new believers, we tend to focus on their past. We see what they used to be, or what they did before they met Jesus, and we judge them, rather than accept them. We must never forget that there is no size to sin, and even though we didn’t commit some of the sins they did, we were still sinners doomed for hell until we found Jesus and repented. And the joy we have in Jesus is that He never treats us according to what we did before salvation, but as who we are now in Him, children of God. He knows we’re not perfect and will still mess up, yet He overflows in love and mercy towards us, encouraging us to treat others as He treats us.
