Afflictions are difficult for everyone! But when we know Jesus as our Savior and realize He’s with us, we have peace and are encouraged knowing He fights our battles for us. We celebrate Christmas because it’s when God’s promise to send a Savior came to pass: the birth of Jesus, His Son! Jesus left His throne in Heaven to be born in a barn and die in humiliation on the cross to defeat sin and death and pardon our sins so we could be redeemed. His Word gives us eternal life because Jesus IS the Word; He IS life!
