As Christians, we study the Bible to know Jesus and His will for our lives. Our faith in His Word grows, and we realize that God is Holy, all-knowing, full of wisdom, and overflowing in love and mercy, unlike the devil lurking around trying to deceive and kill us. So as we grow in knowledge and understanding, we won’t pray for vain things or selfish desires but for God’s will to be done. And God has promised that if we ask anything according to His will, He will hear and answer our prayers.
