Treating others with respect or compassion is hard when they mistreat us. Yet, God told us to love our enemies, and we can love them and treat them well when we humble ourselves and remember where we came from. Before we knew Jesus, we were full of sin and hate for the things of God, and yet He loved us enough to die on the cross and take the punishment for those sins. If God can love US that much when we don’t deserve it, shouldn’t we treat others the same? As Christians, filled with God’s love, we can do it because it’s God loving them through us.
