Why does God want us to love and pray for those who deliberately hurt us? Because we were once sinners, enemies of God by serving the god of this world, and yet, Jesus didn’t turn us away. He took OUR sins and bore the punishment for them on the cross even though WE didn’t deserve it, and when we accepted Jesus as our Savior, He filled us with His Spirit. God doesn’t want us to become buddies with our enemies, but He wants us to love and pray for them because WE may be the only one who does. And maybe, God allowed this enemy to cross our path for this reason!
