Many hear the salvation message but reject it because they aren’t willing to give up the life they’ve made for themselves here on earth to follow God. It’s like the rich man in Matthew 19:16-22 who spoke with Jesus and agreed with Him but cherished his life and wasn’t willing to change or give up anything to follow God. These people are deceived because this life will end with them being judged for rejecting the salvation of Christ, which would have saved them from judgment. Truly, life begins when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior.
