The evidence of being a Christian is our obedience to God and hate for sin. Many new Christians think they have to resist the devil and his temptations on their own merits, but they don’t have the strength or the wisdom to defeat evil. The ONLY way to obey God is to study the Scriptures to know Him and get His truth deep into our hearts. Then we’ll fill up on God’s strength, wisdom, and knowledge through His Spirit in us who’ll teach, lead and guide us in all truth. We’ll be strong because God’s Word in us is our sword that fights the enemy and resists his temptations.
