King David sang praises to God even during the years he was running from an adversary that was determined to kill him, and that’s because David’s faith and hope were in God. He cried out to God in despair and yet with hope because he feared God more than people. We need to be like David and focus on God and not on the world around us because then we, too, will see that God is greater than anything the world can stir up. God is the One we should fear, not the world. When our hope and faith are in Him and not in people, His peace floods our souls and like David, we want to sing praises to our Lord because we know that we serve a Mighty God!
