After Jesus rose from the grave, He visited His disciples to comfort and encourage them, and they knew He was the promised Messiah, their King. Jesus told them that as soon as He returned to Heaven, He’d send His Spirit to fill their hearts. Then He gave them their mission—and this is for every spirit-filled believer who loves and follows Jesus—preach the gospel, feed the poor, help the needy, and share the love of God with the lost. Before Jesus was escorted by the angels into Heaven, He said, “I go to prepare a place for you…and I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” The angel affirmed that He’ll come in the clouds for us, so today, we focus on our mission, knowing that He’s coming soon!
