Jesus was in the home of Simon the Leper when Mary, the sister of Lazarus and Martha, poured oil onto the Lord’s head and feet. One of His disciples became indignant, saying it was a waste, that they could have sold the oil for a lot of money. But Jesus corrected him, saying she did it in love, in preparation for His burial. Judas had no love for Jesus as he was a thief using whoever he could for gain, and it was then that he betrayed God’s love. He went to the chief priests, offered to lead them to Jesus so they could capture Him, and for only 30 pieces of silver. No regrets, no remorse. But Jesus knew what Judas was doing, and He didn’t fight him because this is why He had come to earth, to die on the cross for the sins of those who love Him.
