Barnabas, known as “the Encourager,” was an apostle of Christ who travelled with Paul to establish the first churches. Though they were hunted and eventually killed for teaching about Jesus, Barnabas encouraged new believers to keep their eyes on Jesus, reminding them that they were God’s children because His Holy Spirit was in them. Today, as believers, we must also be encouraged because many to whom we share the gospel with, including family members, don’t want to hear it and make our lives difficult. But we are not alone—Jesus gave us His Spirit, who NEVER leaves us! He fills us with peace and joy, and speaks to us with love and instruction through His Word, giving us the strength to keep going!
