Gifts for a King!

When Jesus was about two years old, many wise men traveled from the east to worship and present Him with gifts. They gave Him gold in honor of His kingship, knowing He was the promised King of the Jews. They gave Him frankincense, a fragrant incense used in temple worship, acknowledging Jesus’s divine nature and His role as a High Priest who would intercede for humanity. And they gave Him an expensive oil called Myrrh, a burial spice used for embalming, symbolic of Jesus’s human suffering, sacrificial death, and resurrection. And we come to Jesus with praise and worship and give Him our hearts because we, too, know He is our King!
