As parents, it’s hard to watch our children leave home and then make terrible choices in life that hurt them. We want to dive in and help, but they want us to stay out and let them do it their way. It’s not until they humbly come to us for help that we can help them. It’s the same with God. Many people have turned away from Him to live life their way, and though God watches in love, ready to help and make it all right, He will do nothing until we humble ourselves and return to Him as His children. Then, when we come before Him with reverence as our Father, He intercedes, helps us, and blesses us because He loves us.
