Oxford Dictionary defines “lord” as someone or something with power, authority, or influence; a master or ruler. Satan lords over the people of this world, orchestrating his own laws and controlling their thoughts and actions. But Jesus, God’s Son, defeated the devil when He died on the cross and then rose back to life. When we accept His gift of life, Jesus becomes our Lord, who watches over and takes care of us. There’s no one more powerful, and NOTHING Jesus can’t or won’t do for us when we follow Him with gratitude and love and trust Him!
