People become Christians for many reasons. Some come with a heart of repentance and a desire to know and follow Jesus; many more come only for His gifts. Yet, like earthly fathers, God’s blessings and gifts are reserved for His children, whom He blesses abundantly when they have a relationship with Him and obey Him. Sadly, many don’t want to know Jesus personally; they only want to use His name to get rich, but their riches won’t be gifts from God. And one day, they’ll know the truth when they stand before Jesus and hear Him say, “Depart from me; I never knew you.”
