Gifts must be accepted to be appreciated. If I were to offer you financial help in your time of need, you’d likely ignore or refuse my gift because you don’t know me. But if you knew me, you’d believe me and accept it. Many Christians treat the Lord like this. They don’t know Him personally and won’t accept His gifts because they seem impossible to them. But nothing is impossible to God. Jesus gave His life to save ours long before we even knew of Him—but the onus is on us to accept His gift of life. And when we do, God hears our prayers, but again, the onus is on us to study His Word to know Him so we can believe that He will answer us.
