Jesus gathered with His disciples to share the Feast of Passover. When He said that one of them would betray Him, Judas left to get the chief priests and take them to the garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus would come to pray. Meanwhile, Jesus held communion with His disciples, referring to the bread as His body, which was to be shed for them, and the wine as His blood, which was to be poured out for them. When they got to the garden, Judas greeted Jesus with a kiss to show the crowd of men bearing swords and clubs who to capture. Jesus had warned His disciples what was about to happen, and that they’d all flee, but it wasn’t until they took Him that they knew Jesus would die just as He’d told them.
