The name given to Jesus at His birth was no coincidence. The angel instructed Joseph and Mary to call Him Jesus, which is Immanuel, “God is with us.” Jesus is God in a human body, who left His throne in Heaven to come to earth, die on the cross, and take on the punishment for our sins. Then He rose from the grave, defeating sin and death, and returned to Heaven, where He’s preparing a place for us who love Him. But those who refuse to accept His salvation will humbly and fearfully bow before Him one day soon, realizing that the One whose birth we honor at Christmas is THE Lord of Heaven and earth, whose name is above all names!
