The Bible tells us in Genesis that God created a man and a woman and breathed life into their bodies. Then later, it says they defiled their hearts, minds, and bodies through sin, so God withdrew His Spirit from them. Though our bodies are alive today, many being beautiful and elegantly adorned, if God’s Spirit is not in us, we are essentially dead, separated from Him forever. But—when we accept that Jesus is God’s Son who came to earth and gave His life to take our sins away, He cleanses our hearts and minds and fills us again with His Spirit of life. And we are alive in Him!
