A “lord” is someone or something who rules over us with power and authority. In times past, lords purchased people to serve them, and they’d form a community where the lord would rule over them, care for them, and protect them. He’s the one they’d go to for every need. For Christians, Jesus is our Lord! He defeated our enemy at the cross and purchased us with His own blood, and now HE rules over us, not the devil. Jesus is our Healer, Counselor, Caretaker, Defender, and Friend, and He walks with us on our right side and leads us. There’s no lord more precious or worthy of praise than our Lord Jesus!
