Have you ever wondered why the angel appeared first to the shepherds instead of the religious leaders with the good news of their Messiah’s birth? It’s because the religious leaders were too full of themselves to wait on God, but the shepherds, though lowly and despised, loved God with all their hearts and waited daily for their promised Messiah. When we are serious about receiving Jesus as our Messiah, our Savior, God reveals Him to us, just as He did to the shepherds many years ago. “You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.”—Jeremiah 29:13.
