Two Celebrations in One!

Long before Jesus was born, pagans celebrated this season with feasts, gift exchanges, and elaborate decorations to honor the Sun Goddess. When Jesus was born, it was springtime when the baby lambs were born, but Christians couldn’t celebrate His birth due to persecution. So, Emperor Constantine, who wasn’t a Christian but who found favor with them, allowed them to celebrate His birth when the pagans celebrated their god so they’d blend with the season and be spared from persecution. So, to the world, it IS a Happy Holiday, but to us who love Jesus, it’s Merry Christmas!
