Why do sheep need a shepherd? They’re vulnerable animals, easily distracted, quick to lose direction, and can’t protect themselves against enemies. So they have a shepherd who lives amongst them and loves them like friends, leads them to pastures and water, and is willing to die for them to protect them from wolves. As Christians, Jesus is OUR Shepherd. He died and rose from the grave to save us from our enemies because He loves us, and when we’re in His flock, HE is all we need!
