Many become Christians so they’ll go to Heaven when they die; others only want the perks that come with the title. Then they struggle trying to be something that they’re not. There’s only ONE way to become Christian; realize you’re a sinner, accept Jesus as your Savior, and then turn from the world and follow Jesus. You won’t need to “try” to be Christian because God’s Spirit in you will teach you His Truth through the Scriptures—and all you have to do is read them and let His Word dwell in you!
