Fear is controlling. It forces us to do things we shouldn’t or not do things we should; its humiliating tactics leave us powerless against the evils of darkness. But we’re not afraid when we know Jesus as our Savior and have His Spirit in us. We study the Bible to know God, so our hope and faith are in Him, and fear cannot exist. 1 John 4:4 says, “He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” When we get this and submit our issues to God, we have peace!
