Who Will You Choose to be Your Healer?

6695757601_baec4e4102_mI have lost many friends to cancer in the last few years, and I know so many more who are currently stricken with this horrendous disease and who are battling it with their very lives. It grieves me beyond words that so many people – so many Christians – will turn to the world of chemotherapy for their healing rather than simply accept that GOD is their healer.

Isaiah 53:5 says it very clearly – “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed.”

And our salvation is made clear in Isaiah 53:10“Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He hath put Him to grief: when thou shalt make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see his seed, He shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.

If we can believe that Jesus is our Saviour and that through His shed blood we were redeemed back to our Father, forgiven for our sins and saved from His coming wrath, then WHY can’t we believe that He has also healed our bodies? Why do we insist on turning to the world to heal us?

When Adam and Eve were removed from the Garden of Eden after they’d sinned against God, they lost favour with Him. Oh, He still loved them, but there was “sin” between Him and them and He couldn’t be with them like He was before because God is Holy and cannot be in the presence of sin. He couldn’t bless them like He did before; He was no longer the Lord over their lives like He was before. They were exiled into the government of the devil who had tricked them into sinning against God, and whose law still controls this world. The freedom, wholeness and blessings of God no longer belonged to Adam and Eve.

“Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?” … Romans 7:1

And that is the state of majority of the people in our world today; they don’t belong to God and so their only hope for healing is in the world. They’re lost and separated from God just like Adam and Eve were separated from God and His outpoured love.

But we DO belong to God. His promises belong to US, and we CAN stand on them and expect to see them materialize in our lives. God has removed the curse from us through Jesus’ death because He became the curse for us on the cross.

“Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree.” … Galatians 3:13

And Jesus redeemed us back to God our Father through His resurrection, Romans 8:34.

That means that Isaiah 53:5 isn’t just a nice verse, but it’s a powerful statement of our life in Christ.

“…by His stripes we ARE healed.”

So, if we are healed, then why do we get sick? How can cancer kill and destroy so many lives?

We need to understand that our bodies are not just for our own pleasure, but they are the temple of the Holy Spirit.

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?” … 1 Corinthians 3:16

Therefore, we have a responsibility to care for our body and to keep it healthy. And when we get to a point where our body becomes ill, we need to make some changes to bring it back into a healthy state – and that does NOT mean pumping it full of poisons like the ones that are in cancer treatments. We get our body healthy by changing our lifestyle, cutting out all the impure foods such as packaged, canned and fast foods, and sugars and meat products and by products that are infested with chemicals and toxins because these are the culprits that cause the illnesses in the first place.

We need to return to eating food that God gave us to eat, to foods that are free of all toxins because these foods will build up the weak immune system, and a healthy immune system will fight off all disease. God healed us and gave us back the right to a healthy body, but we have to maintain the body and feed it good, wholesome food. We cannot just accept the healing and then treat our body poorly.

For example, if I take a hammer and begin to hit my finger with it, my finger will break, bleed and be in tremendous pain. If I cry out to God and accept His healing then I AM healed and with some attention my finger will be restored. But if I continue to hit the hammer on my finger, I will never see that healing and eventually I could lose my finger.

Many of us have become lazy and we want God to do everything for us, but we have to grow up sometime and begin to take care of ourselves – and that begins with knowing that we are healed and then becoming responsible for how we treat our body so it stays that way.

I know what I’m talking about because I’ve been there. I know what it’s like to have cancer and suffer from pain and distress, to subject myself to surgery and then learn that they “didn’t get it all”, and “sorry, but you only have a few months to live unless you do immediate chemo and then we might only be able to give you another year or so.” I’ve experienced the anguish and the torment. I’ve also experienced the peace when I accepted beyond a shadow of a doubt that God had healed me, and that all I had to do was get my body to line up. It wasn’t easy, and in fact, at times it was very challenging – but I did it!

I am now cancer-free because I turned to God’s ways and not the world’s ways.  I pray that everyone reading this will realize that with God all things are possible, and that by His stripes we ARE healed. But we have to choose where our healing will come from because that source will be the Lord over our life.

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” … John 10:10

Jesus Loves Me

We have sung the age-old song, “Jesus Loves Me”, countless times. Yet, how many of us really know and understand in our heart the reality of the words so that we can say without a doubt, Jesus Loves Me?

His love for us is endless and totally unconditional. Jesus died on the cross and took away ALL of our sins and ALL of our sickness, and I know this is true because He healed me when the world said there was no cure. In 2011 I had undergone major surgery for cancer only to learn afterwards that the cancer the doctors thought was gone had actually spread to my lymph nodes. Being read the death sentence was truly the most horrifying experience that I had ever endured, and I was shocked and devastated beyond words, to say the least.

Luke 1:37 says that nothing is impossible to God, and I knew this was true but my mind became a battleground and it was hard to concentrate on the Words.  Romans 8:11 flooded my thoughts day and night with renewed encouragement, but the words of the medical doctors pierced my thoughts and covered me with icy chills. It was a battle that was enforced with fear but that was won through faith.

I turned to prayer warriors and asked them to stand in the gap for me so that my faith could be made strong. During my constant prayers to the Lord, He gave me answers to all my questions, to all my fears, and I wrote them down so that I could read them over and over. My faith was strengthened daily and I was able to stand and face the battle and know that Jesus had already won it for me. And now, a year later, I am cancer-free and healthy! Praise God!

But I don’t want to keep the blessing to myself. I wrote all the inspiring messages into a book to share with you and with everyone who wants to make their faith strong so they can believe God to heal their bodies.

We walk by faith and not by sight, and the words of the Lord, according to Colossians 3:16,  must be alive in us all the time in order for our faith to stay strong. But when we face adversities in our lives, the fear of what’s coming against us can steal the hope and belief we have in our hearts. So we must never stand alone. We must always pray and support each other so that our faith stays strong. This is the love of God in us that makes us Christians.

Where two or more are gathered in prayer, the Lord is in the middle of them. This book is filled with the love and inspiration of God. It is my prayer that it will be an encouragement to every person who reads it, and that they will be blessed and their faith will be made strong by the Lord so that they, too, can receive the victory over their problems.

Let Faith Arise! will be released in the first week of September, 2012 and I pray that it will be a blessing to people everywhere, especially to those whom the doctors have said there is no hope because they have cancer. Jesus IS our hope and He inspired me to write this book to share that hope with you.

“But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.” … Romans 8:11

It’s Time to Put Faith to Work

It’s time to put our faith to work! I’m asking everyone to please join me in a stand of faith for a young woman who is in the hospital fighting with cancer for her life.

Her name is Fawn and she and her husband love the Lord but the enemy has attacked her with this aggressive disease and they both need us to stand in faith with them. We can stand together, put our faith to work and lift Fawn up to the Lord and believe that He will touch her body and heal her. Fawn was already healed at the cross but her circumstances are hindering her from receiving that healing.

I would like us all to take a stand in faith and declare her healing before the heavens and ask the Lord to strengthen her own faith so that she can believe and accept her healing. She’s weak and needs our support. The enemy is moving fast but the Bible says in Isaiah 59:19 that “when the enemy comes in, like a flood the Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against him.”

Nothing is impossible to God and all things are possible to those who believe. I believe that Jesus healed her on the cross and I know that if we stand together and believe with her and for her that Fawn will receive her healing.

When I fought my battle against cancer all of last year I put my faith in God, had prayer warriors pray for me and never took my eyes off of the cross. The scripture at Matthew 8:11 was on my lips constantly. It wasn’t easy and it was a harsh time for me, but I’m healed – against all the odds I beat the disease that the doctors said would take my life before Christmas. God healed me, and I know that with all of us standing in faith for Fawn, she will arise from this bed of affliction and receive her healing, too.

So, please join me in a stand of faith so God’s daughter can be free, and then listen closely because you’ll hear all of Heaven rejoice!

“But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.” … Matthew 8:11

Faith and Songs of Praise

As we stand in faith we need to build our strength and sing songs of praise that confess God’s Word.

When we are standing in faith and believing Him for healing, we should be confessing His words of healing over our bodies.

We need to read His Word out loud so we can hear ourselves saying His words. We need to do this repeatedly and get His truth deep into our own spirits.

And when we sing songs of praise, not only do we get His Word into our own hearts, but the worship brings us into His mighty presence and we feel a closeness to Him.

His Word becomes real and our faith becomes stronger.

Songs of praise are powerful!

Listen to this song and be blessed. It will draw you into His presence and you will feel His healing power over your body.

You are the Lord My Healer

I am the Lord that healeth thee“…..Exodus 15:26

Faith is Patient – don’t rush God

Standing in faith and waiting for positive results can be like watching and waiting for a pot of water to boil. It takes time but it will happen, so don’t rush God.

The Lord hears our prayers and sees our stand in faith and is very capable of answering us, but sometimes the answer is dependent on other people – the ones He selects to help make things possible for us. He has to work on the hearts and minds to line their actions up so that He can then make situations happen to place you where you want to be.

For example, we may be believing God for finances and so we stand strong and positive in our faith, believing and trusting that God will bless us with the finances we’re asking for. He could just plop them in our mail box, but usually when God moves, many people are effected. Perhaps, he’ll arrange for a better job or location or situation or people around who will bless us. God is ready to move when we ask, but others may not be so it takes time to get them to line up so that God can bless us through them.

When we’re standing on faith for healing, it might not be people around us who are delaying the process but our own bodies that need to line up to His will. God wants us to be in health and we know this because the Bible says that when Jesus was on the cross, He took our infirmities and by His stripes we WERE healed.

So, in essence God HAS healed us already, and our faith in His Word and His actions will be the fuel that causes our bodies to line up with the healing. Sometimes we get a miracle healing and this is awesome, but most times the healing manifests after a period of diligence and perseverance, and often requires work on our part to help bring the body into perfect health.

If we’re pounding a hammer on our finger it will be injured and painful and when we ask and believe God for healing, He will heal us, BUT if we continue pounding the hammer on the finger we will never experience that healing. There are things that we have to do to bring our own body into subjection, into a state where we are in charge and are keeping it the way God has instructed.

Doctors are quick to prescribe medications for us but when you do a study on these chemical meds, we see that they don’t always heal the body and, in fact, only pollute it with toxins that will eventually destroy it. When the Lord told Adam and Eve what to eat in the garden, it was because those foods were the natural fuels that would keep their body healthy, that would repair it when it was injured and that would give it longevity.

He gave them the instruction of what to eat as a formula for all mankind so that we would all live in good health. But sadly, our busy world has opened an entire lifestyle of fast foods and many of us have negated the foods that God told us to eat. When we eat processed, packaged, canned and fast foods, we are eating toxins and chemicals that weaken our immunities, strengthen the bad radicals and make us ill, even to the point of death.

So, when we’re standing in faith for healing for a sickness such as cancer, it doesn’t always mean just waiting and looking for God to do all the work. It also means that we have to make a change and line ourselves up with God’s will, and that change means following His instructions of what to eat and drink so that the body can be made strong and receive the healing.

God is healing us, but we’ll never be able to receive it if we don’t treat our bodies the way God has instructed so that we can be healed and keep our healing. It’s not that He can’t heal us, but that our body can’t maintain the healing.

We need to stand and remain standing, applying our faith WITH works. Remember, our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and it’s our responsibility to put this body under our subjection, to feed it and care for it and keep it healthy. When we do all we can do, all that is possible to do, then we’ll see His mighty hand of healing. So we don’t rush God but instead, we need to praise Him and thank Him because He loves us, and He does answer prayer but we need to remember to be patient.

“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. … 1 John 5:14,15

Join me in my prayerful stand against cancer

Not counting the actual letters in the word, ‘cancer’ is undoubtedly the worst of the four-letter words.

I think most of us have suffered the loss of someone we love to this horrific curse. We can’t wait for the world any longer as it tries to find a cure to this deadly disease. We need to take a prayerful stand against it NOW!

And I’ve taken the first step and ask that everyone please join me in my prayerful stand against cancer.

I have created a new blog – Standing United Against Cancer – and ask that you please join the group as we stand united across the globe in prayer.
