My father fought in WW2 and survived severe physical injuries, but he carried the mental torment of the horrors he endured to his grave. He told us stories that even Hollywood couldn’t dream up, and it’s only because of God that he could live an almost normal life. Most of us really have no idea about the horror of war, and I pray we never do. I stand to honor all those who gave their lives so that we could enjoy the freedom we have today.
