Did you ever notice that life’s motivations go in waves? Nothing is stable. Everything is changing. The fashion industry, TV shows, hit songs, movie themes and even food is forever changing. But most noticeable is our social world where things that were once forbidden are now the norm, what we once called evil is now considered good.  And as long as  Christians continue to hide their light under a bushel, we are going to see even more changes.

And sadly, the greatest change is among the Christians! The message is no longer one and the same but has become a massive business that competes for our lives—aka, our money. People are concerned about their eternity and about living well now, and they go to whoever is preaching the most appealing message. But this is how the devil keeps us from the truth. He convinces us that there are many ways to Heaven and that as long as we believe in the doctrine we’re taught, then it will work out. But that’s a lie! There is only one gospel and only one way to Heaven, and that is through Christ Jesus, our Messiah!

• The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly.—John 10:10

Billy Graham was God’s evangelist who preached repentance and the need for the cross for over 80 years. His message was clear and always the same. “Repent and give your heart to Jesus!” Many other so-called Christian ministries have sprung up over the years that preach a diversity of messages, and many don’t include the cross. Many focus on the family and on social living in today’s world.

Christians have become great in the social realm, but very weak in the power of the Lord. The time has passed when we can just relax and enjoy being a Christian. Those days are over, and we are entering a time of great change and uncertainty, of lawlessness and of fear. When we look back even just a few years, we realize just how much and how fast this world is turning from God. When we study the Bible, we realize that we are living in the last days before the return of Christ.

The opportunity to get the message of salvation out there is almost at an end. The enemy is working hard to keep people from God, and it’s very obvious. God has been removed from schools, public places, and the government. The laws of God that once ruled our land have been changed to allow perversion and hatred to rule. We now legally murder unborn children, and we euthanize the ones we don’t want (God says do not kill). We change our gender to suit our own sick desires (but God says He made them male and female). Where is God in all of this? He isn’t in any of it! The god of this world is ruling, as should be so obvious in the abominations that surround us.

• Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.—Matthew 7:15

The time for change has come! If we truly love God, have repented of our sins and are filled with God’s Spirit, then we have to do what God has called us to do. We must speak the truth—not bow away from it and turn our face, and not live in our little world to avoid being involved. By ignoring sin, we are condoning it! Christians are so afraid that they will be judging if they say anything, but telling people the truth and showing them the way to salvation is not judging; it’s doing God’s will!

We must love God more than we fear ridicule for saying things that this world doesn’t want to hear. Jesus told us that persecution would come when we take a stand for Him. And we need to take that stand and speak out against the sins of this world.

We are the temple of God, and the only way anyone in this world is going to see God is through us. If we back away and say nothing, then God is kept under a bushel. But if we let God live through us, then His truth will prevail through us, and people will see God in us!

If we want people to receive the salvation of Jesus so they can be protected during the tribulation that is soon to come and has already started, and so they can spend eternity in Heaven with Him, then we need to come out of hiding and tell them now. We need to live the testimony now, and preach the message of salvation now!

Jesus called us to be disciples, to let our light shine, to be the salt of the earth, to call people to repentance, to preach the gospel to the ends of the earth. Now is the time! Doors are beginning to close, and once they are shut, those who are stuck behind them will die lost and spend eternity in Hell. As Christians, we need to be more responsible than that. We need to walk in love and share the gospel of Christ while there is still time. Because things are changing, time is running out, and soon no one will want to hear the message that we can so readily give them today.

Jesus saves!

• The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.—Romans 10:8-10
