We live in a world that has drifted so far from God most people have no real idea who God is! Laws and attitudes have been changed to appease this “modern” life and God is mocked and ridiculed and blasphemed—and all without fear. And it’s not only the people of the world who mock God; many so-called believers are also guilty. But one day they will all be drenched in fear because God is very real and He will not be mocked!
People of the world mock God because they don’t know Him and they are tired of being ruled by laws that are outdated. And many so-called believers also mock God because they want the emotional confidence of a home in Heaven, but they don’t want to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Instead, they follow false preachers and are deluded into thinking that God has actually changed His laws and His ways to suit this new age. God does not change! Hebrews 13:8 says He is the same yesterday, today and forever.
- Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.—Psalm 25:5
And to make things even worse, there are preachers in the pulpits who have not turned from their sins to receive forgiveness and salvation from God. They use all the right words and quote Scriptures, and fool the people into thinking they are Christians. And the people, who don’t study the Bible to know the truth, fall prey to their deception.
When God says that something is a sin, then it’s a sin! There is no compromise. God tells us that we are to hate sin just as He hates sin—Proverbs 8:13. Therefore, it’s wrong for a man to preach the gospel when he’s still part of the world and living in sin. God’s requirements for a deacon and a bishop are found in 1 Timothy 3:1-13. How much greater is that of a preacher!
God hates sin and He will not be mocked! False preachers blatantly disobey God with their rebellious message that mocks God. We are warned about them in 2 Peter 2.
When people claim to be Christians and yet deliberately refuse to accept God as the Holy One of Israel, to be worshiped and praised, they are mocking God—claiming to be saved yet daring to continue to follow the god of this world.
- No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.—Matthew 6:24
God abhors immorality and yet this world has made it legal. God despises murder and yet this world has made abortion legal. God said that He is the only God and no other gods are to be above Him, and yet He has been removed from all public places including schools so that people can worship all their different religious gods. These acts alone are totally mocking God!
People are so foolish! They have no idea what they are really doing, and yet they’ll fight to the end for the right to do it. They have raised themselves up to be equal with God so they don’t think they need a “personal Savior” anymore because we were all saved at the cross. But salvation isn’t automatic; we have to accept it and come out of the world of sin to follow Jesus.
As Christians, we need to study the Bible and let His Holy Spirit teach us His truth. We need to share the gospel and walk in God’s love and mercy. We need to be obedient and submissive to Him. We need to learn to receive God’s chastisement when it comes and praise Him for loving us.
Judgment is coming and it’s coming soon! Jesus is about to return as King over this entire world. The devil also knows He’s coming and he’s pushing the world into sin as he races to the throne so he can sit as king in Jerusalem in the body of the antichrist. But, the throne belongs to Jesus. God will not be mocked!
We’re told in 2 Peter 3:3-4 that in the last days there will be scoffers. Today the world is mocking God’s laws and His people who uphold them, and false doctrines are mocking God’s authority through daring disobedience. But judgment is coming! If you have never accepted His Salvation, do it now while there’s still time.
- Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.—Galatians 6:7
