There have been many books written on the life of Jesus. Some come at us from a theologian point-of-view and are detailed in words we can’t pronounce, causing us to get lost on the first page. Other views are written from a lustful assumption that brings God down to human level in an effort to conceive a formula that provides much earthly gain. Too many people don’t study the Bible and are easily fooled into believing in a false Jesus—because they don’t know the truth. Many so-called Christians don’t even know who Jesus really is.
I have just released my fourth inspirational book called, From Cradle to King, and it’s very different! It’s true, it’s alive and it’s totally supported by Scripture. And it’s easy to read because it’s written in a story format so that new believers, teens, children and people of any age can read with ease and learn the truth. In this book, Grandpa reads the story of Jesus to his grandson who asks all the questions the rest of us are too afraid to ask.
- Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.—Matthew 7:7 NKJV
There is only one way to know Jesus and that is by reading the Scriptures. And yet, so many people don’t want to take the time to study the Bible to know the truth and instead, settle for someone else’s version of who they think Jesus is. I have diligently studied the Scriptures and I wrote a book on the life of Jesus that is like none you’ve ever read before.
I’ve noticed that the stores are filled with books on the life of Jesus, but so many of them don’t meet children, teens and new believers at their level of understanding. I wrote this book to inspire people to know to Jesus and to encourage them to study the Scriptures for themselves. Jesus is truly our King and we need to know Him, but we each need to seek His face and study His Word to get the truth deep into our hearts.
- Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.—2 Timothy 2:15 NKJV
There are very few of us, if any, who could walk into a third-year chemistry class and have any understanding of what the professor was teaching or even talking about unless we had knowledge of the prior two years. The words, the terms, the concepts and the implications would be beyond our understanding. It would educational suicide to attempt to join the class at that point and expect to understand anything or have any hope of a career afterwards.
It’s the same concept with the Bible. Unless we understand who Jesus is, why He came, why He died and that He rose from the dead, Christianity has no meaning to us and we have no hope of a future with God. Head knowledge of the general consensus of Jesus won’t make us a Christian anymore than going into a fitness centre will make us healthy. We need to do something with it. We need to work at it. No, we don’t need to work for our salvation, but we need to know the truth so we can accept it; we need to study the Bible and spend time in prayer.
Unless we know about Jesus and get the truth into our heart, we are not Christians; we are not born-again. Jesus died and provided an avenue of salvation for everyone, but only those who know Him and accept Him as Lord and Savior and King can call themselves Christians. Knowing about a club and agreeing that it’s good doesn’t make you a member; knowing about God and acknowledging His existence doesn’t make you a Christian, either.
This is why I wrote the book, From Cradle to King. It’s written simply and the facts are solely supported by Scripture. There are terms and names in the Scriptures that many new Christians and children aren’t familiar with, and they really affect their understanding if they aren’t made clear. So, I put little Lucas as the recipient to Grandpa’s reading just because he asks all those questions to bring clarity to the simplest of things.
I encourage everyone to get a copy of this book, From Cradle to King; not because I wrote it, but because Jesus truly is our Savior, Lord and King, and only those who know Him will receive the salvation that He’s provided. Jesus doesn’t want anyone to miss out on what He’s given to us, and I hope that this book will help bring this truth a little closer to your heart.
- For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.—John 3:16-17 NKJV
