National Day of Prayer

national day of prayer 2016

Today is May 5th, 2016 and it’s been declared as “The National Day of Prayer”.

What an opportunity we have as Christians to pray for the leadership of our country and for the salvation of our loved ones. It only comes one day a year and it’s perfectly legal! Christians across the land will pray today in unison and God in Heaven will hear their collective prayers.

  •  For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and His ears are open unto their prayers.—1 Peter 3:12

The world is changing its values everyday and it’s racing speedily towards its inevitable end. We are experiencing more natural disasters in shorter spans of time than ever before in history. Laws are being changed that push us into condemnation because they support and bring freedom to those who defy God instead of protecting the innocent citizens whose Christian beliefs founded our country.

God has told us to pray! He’s told us to pray for all of our needs and to lift those up in prayer who need God’s healing touch and restoration in their lives. What a blessing it is to know that today we don’t pray alone, that God is listening to Christians across America as they unite and spend time in prayer with Him.

  •  For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.—Matthew 18:20

The enemy has pushed forward to flaunt his evil ways all around us and too often there is nothing we can do to change things. But today is different. Today thousands are joining together in prayer! Today thousands are looking to God for change, for restoration in the land so that principles we once lived by would again become the American standard!

We need to all take some time out today and be part of this wonderful experience; a day that has been legally designated as a National Day of Prayer when we can come before God as mighty team and pray for our needs.

  •  If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.—2 Chronicles 7:14
