Endorsing Sin Brings Judgment

new lawsWe read in the Old Testament that after Moses led the people out of Egypt, they began to engage in terrible acts of sin including idolatry, immorality, and murder. So, God gave Moses some laws known as the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20) to be used as a benchmark to govern the people so they would stay away from sin and follow Him. These laws have been passed down through the years and they are not unique to any particular community; they are God’s governing laws for all of mankind. The Bible is God’s instruction to us and no person or government has the authority to overrule what God has set out. Any government that dares to defy what God has put forth is willfully rebelling against God, and endorsing any sin to be acceptable by law will bring judgment upon us!

Whether or not people accept or believe in God has absolutely no impact on the fact that God IS God and that He is Creator of the universe, our Heavenly father, King and Judge over all. People can stray from God and follow false gods—aka the devil in disguise—and they can want to serve him through their own lusts and greed, but that does not give them the authority to change what God has said. In fact, it’s totally irrelevant to the fact that God is God, and that He gave His law, provided a means for us to be forgiven for breaking His law, and told us to obey it. No exceptions.

There is a universal attitude spreading that believes God’s laws can be changed or “modified to meet today’s needs” if the government authorizes it. Therefore, people can petition the government for whatever act of rebellion they want and still feel justified before God. If something is legal within the worldly system, then it’s okay because, after all, it’s law and God said that they must obey the laws of the land. However, taking one scripture to defend their actions is foolish; they need to read all the surrounding scriptures to understand the meaning of the one scripture.

  • Then saith He unto them, ‘Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s’.—Matthew 22:21

scripture inspiredWe read in 2 Timothy 3:16 that, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God”. Therefore, the content of the scriptures is not what people thought or assumed, but is what God told them to write for our benefit. And Hebrews 13:8 says that “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” Nowhere in the Bible does it even suggest that God could or would ever change what He told the patriarchs to write. In fact, in Revelations 22:18-19 God warns of the danger that will come to anyone who changes even one word of that book. Therefore, whatever God said in the scriptures is what God meant when He instructed them to be written, and is what God intends to continue until the end of time.

Throughout the Old Testament we read where God poured His wrath on the people and literally destroyed them because of their sin—(the flood, Sodom & Gomorrah). They worshipped other idols, lived and promoted immorality including sexual perversion and homosexuality, and murdered and sacrificed their children to their gods. Oh how sinful they were! So deserving of God’s wrath! And yet, are we any different?

Today our world is far less barbaric and far more civilized—or so we think. Thousands of churches decorate our cities, millions of people call themselves Christians and the majority are following what’s acceptable in this world as opposed to obeying God’s laws. Two Laws that have been rewritten by the legal system of the land completely change our value and integrity of life:

1) Exodus 20:13—Thou shalt not kill.

4175850907_9d68e186f2_mWhen God said we should not murder, He meant just that. He wasn’t talking about casualties of war; He was talking about life in general and He said that we are not to take the life of any other person. Yet, it’s being done every day and it’s legal! And not only legal, but paid for by our health care system.

Every day thousands of innocent babies are murdered. We call it abortion, but God calls it murder! People feel justified by their actions because “it is legal” and therefore, there’s nothing wrong with it. No guilt. No shame. Totally legal. God’s law has been modified for today’s lifestyle and so life is good. They don’t see the victim as being a child with a beating heart who feels the torture of the abortion process. And just to clear anyone’s conscience who might be hesitant, the terminology has been changed to sound less demeaning. So, the law calls this a process known as “aborting a fetus”, but God calls it killing as in “murdering a child.” Yes, God calls the unborn child “life” not a fetus.

  • If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman’s husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. 23 And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life.—Exodus 21:22-23

2) Leviticus 18:22—Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.

bride and groomThere are many scriptures which state clearly that God forbids homosexuality. He says plainly that He made them male and female—(Genesis 1:27) Verse 28 tells us that He told them to be fruitful and multiply and to have dominion over every living thing on the earth. And verse 31 says that at the end of the sixth day—at the end of all of His creating—God rested. Nothing new was made after the sixth day.

Therefore, transgender people are not God’s creation. He made them male or female, and God is perfect and doesn’t make mistakes. But the world wants to engage in this immoral activity and so what better way to do it than to have the earthly law changed to allow it? So now being a transgender person is as legal and acceptable as all natural males and females, and the acceptance is being taught to our children in the public school system. And unfortunately, Christians are being called haters because we defend the laws and integrity of God. But we don’t hate the people; it’s these sinful behaviors that we won’t support.

God forbids immorality! He was specific when He said that men were not to have sex with men, but to appease the sinful hearts of the people, the earthly laws are changing God’s law to say that it’s okay now. We’re in a different time zone and God’s law that rules against this is outdated—if in fact, God is even real in the first place. It’s now legal so no one has to walk in shame or hide or come out of a closet because the closets are gone. Not only is homosexual behavior legal, but same-sex marriages are also legal in this world. The authority to redefine marriage was imposed through earthly laws, but it was never given by God.

  • If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them.—Leviticus 20:13 NKJV
  • Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived, neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.—1 Corinthians 6:9-10 NKJV

When we deliberately go against the laws of God to appease our modern-day lifestyle, we bring upon ourselves destruction and judgment. Immorality separates us from God. It also spreads disease, bad attitudes, crime and disrespect for humanity, and it destroys family values. And our children are exposed to it and fall into it—that is, those children who aren’t killed by a mother who doesn’t consider abortion to be murder.

imagesM671K1T5God judged many nations in the Old Testament and destroyed them because of their sin. Do we really think that because we live in a more civilized time that God’s judgment won’t come to us? It’s coming and the only way we will escape it is to repent of all our sin and follow Jesus—not the universal Jesus that accepts everyone and every sin without repentance, but the Jesus of the Bible who died on the cross and pardoned our sins, and who will forgive us for our sins when we repent and follow Him.

  • If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.—2 Chronicles 7:14
